The actor described how he initially wanted to make Rocky "smooth and ordinary," and then the character "became a little vain." His body turned into "armor," which he sculpted in the image of a jaguar — not like Arnold Schwarzenegger, but "wild, aggressive, agile and athletic." The obsession went too far: "I became bulimic. You're hearing this for the first time."
Stallone also confirmed steroid use: "Oh God, there's no way around it. But in a sensitive regimen — six weeks on, six weeks off." No one, he says, achieves such a physique "without supplements and drugs, and I don't care what others say." The cycles helped him stay in shape for months on yogurt and pudding, but "there was a terrible price to pay for that too."
The confession appeared exactly when the memoir is being released.
