This is a very tense, unusual, and at times frightening look at the post-apocalypse. Ridley Scott once again proves that he knows how to create worlds that you want (and are afraid) to look into. Special and huge thanks to the cinematographer — he is simply great! The picture in the film is stunning: precise, gloomy, but at the same time incredibly beautiful. Every frame could be a screensaver.
The soul of the picture
The first part of the film is a real treasure. It sets the tone for the entire narrative, but its main discovery is the dog. The shots with the four-legged companion are surprisingly heartfelt, lively, and realistic. In a cold and ruined world, it is this bond that looks like the real, beating heart of the film. You watch these scenes with bated breath; they evoke a strong emotional response.
The acting ensemble: bright and precise
The cast deserves special attention. All the actors gave their hundred percent — the lineup is chosen perfectly. In the main roles: Jacob Elordi, Margaret Qualley, Josh Brolin, Guy Pearce, Allison Janney and Benedict Wong
