Sorrel demonstrates how crucial a network of interconnected safe territories is. She is not tied to one location: she uses different areas for nesting, wintering, and temporary stops. Long-term satellite monitoring has allowed scientists to trace seasonal patterns that would otherwise have remained hidden.
Her movements are being tracked by ornithologists, volunteers, landowners, and local communities across Britain and Ireland. This collaboration helps to understand where the birds are most vulnerable and to implement protection measures.
