When a store gives you more change than they should – is it a gift or a test?-1

❓QUESTION:

When I was given more change than I should have at a store, or when a purchased item wasn't scanned in the receipt, I always took it as a kind of test of honesty from the Universe. I always gave the extra back. But now I'm starting to wonder if it's not a test at all, but rather a gift? How should I view this?

❗️LEE'S ANSWER:

The Universe knows absolutely everything about you; it has no need to test you. But you can test yourself. In this case, not your honesty towards others (that's pointless), but your honesty towards yourself.

Are you acting in accordance with how you think of yourself?

And this combination of "extra change" – these are two factors – you see yourself, and you are given a sign – you can receive money "just like that." The sign doesn't mean "earn money from the change" – it's just confirmation that money can flow to you from anywhere "just like that," without any effort on your part and without the idea of "how to earn." You can receive anything you want "just like that."

And honesty with yourself gives you the ability to calmly give back to another what belongs to them. That is, to return the overpayment not with the thought "I will lose," but with the thought "Thank you for the sign, by returning this small thing that belongs to someone else, I know that I will receive many times more of what is mine."

Here, "someone else's" is understood as that which is objectively perceived as such – there's no need to overthink philosophical variations. And when "mine" arrives – it will also be easily accepted without overthinking personal "deserts" or "worthiness."
