The mission utilized a tonnage-class eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft. The vehicle was developed by the Chinese company AutoFlight, with the Alatau Advance Air Group (AAAG) serving as the Kazakh partner.
Throughout the demonstration, the vehicle successfully executed vertical take-offs, maneuvers, and landings, proving the technical feasibility of air taxi operations in Kazakhstan’s environment.
Plans for Commercialization
Government officials aim to launch electric air taxi routes connecting Alatau, Almaty, and Konaev by 2027. Pending successful certification and regulatory clearance, commercial pilot operations are scheduled to begin in early 2029.
