In Alaska (Juneau, USA), on 26 October 2026, a story unfolded that could well have been an advertisement for automotive safety. Though Subaru's manufacturers are unlikely to want to use exactly these frames! 🐻😂
A black bear decided to take himself on a nighttime automotive tour. And in a single night he managed to visit three cars at once!
But he especially took a liking to a Subaru belonging to the Wilson family.
Around half past midnight, the clumsy fellow found an unlocked car door, opened it and climbed inside.
Perhaps he was hoping to find something tasty. Or maybe he simply decided to get acquainted with Japanese car manufacturing.
But then something unforeseen happened.
The door slammed shut, and the bear found himself locked inside!
Unlike an ordinary passenger, the clumsy fellow did not know how to use door handles.
So he chose a more radical solution: he began literally taking the car apart!
The seats were torn, the plastic panels were ripped out, the metal parts were bent, and the wiring was destroyed.
At some point the bear sat right down on the car horn.
And in the middle of the night a long, continuous honk rang out!
A neighbor who woke up looked out the window and discovered a most unusual motorist desperately honking from a parked Subaru.
The man called the police.
The officers who arrived woke the car's owners and asked for the keys.
But it turned out that the door could no longer be opened the usual way: the bear had managed to damage the wiring, and the unlocking system had stopped working.
They had to carry out a real rescue operation!
The police used a long rope to open the door while staying at a safe distance from the frightened animal.
In the video footage you can see how the bear even puts its paw to the window, as if trying to explain to the rescuers:
"Well, finally! Where have you been? I've already taken half the car apart!" 😂
The whole operation took about five to ten minutes.
As soon as the door opened, the clumsy fellow jumped out and made a clean getaway.
The Subaru, however, was far less fortunate.
When the car's owner, Michael Wilson, inspected the interior, he found a veritable disaster.
The upholstery was destroyed, the rear seats were torn, plastic was strewn everywhere, and some metal parts were bent.
And that's not all.
The bear left inside the car a small but highly unpleasant "souvenir" of natural origin. 💩
However, Michael managed to keep his sense of humor.
He even praised the car's manufacturer, remarking that Subaru really does make sturdy cars.
After all, even a real bear couldn't get out of the interior!
But the story also had a less cheerful side.
The family's insurance covered only liability toward third parties, not damage to their own car of this kind. So the owners cannot count on compensation for the damage.
It later emerged that during that night the bear had managed to get into three cars at once, but got stuck only in the last one.
The family compared the clumsy fellow's adventures to the tale of Goldilocks and the three bears.
Only here everything turned out the other way around: one bear and three cars.
Local residents note that this year bears have been appearing near homes more often. After a snowy winter and a late spring, it is harder for the animals to find their usual food.
So Michael gave his neighbors simple advice: always lock your cars and never leave food or sweets inside.
And we would add one more point:
Don't leave the keys in the ignition. Otherwise, next time the bear won't just climb into the car—he'll drive off in it to go grocery shopping! 🤣
And yet Subaru deserves a compliment of its own.
Not every car can boast that its interior withstood a real bear.
True, after such a test drive the car is unlikely to survive a trip to the auto shop without substantial repairs! 😂
