Yesterday we already immersed ourselves in the world of melodramas, and today we decided not to stray from this pleasant tradition. We remembered that we had overlooked one of the recent premieres, which simply could not be passed by. Meet β€” "Dolce Villa"!

If you were looking for the perfect film for escapism and a rest for the soul, then you have found it. This film is a true visual and gustatory ode to Italy. It gathers everything needed for a perfect evening: breathtaking landscapes that take your breath away, luxurious old houses, the refinements of haute cuisine and that very inimitable Italian flavour. Add to this a light, sparkling humour and tender romance, and you get the recipe for an impeccable film.

The gastronomic component deserves special attention. The camera glides so tenderly over fresh ingredients, a sizzling frying pan and glasses of wine that while watching you involuntarily reach for the fridge. As is aptly and with light irony noted in the film: "Good food is not put in cardboard". And this rule is elevated here to an absolute.

In the leading role shines the charming Maya Refikko (whom many remember from "The Last Sunrise" and other projects). Her heroine brings to the story liveliness, sincerity and that very spark that makes you empathise with her every step.

Let's be honest: the picture is a little drawn out. The plot does not hurry, allowing the viewer simply to dissolve in the atmosphere and not rush anywhere. But this is perhaps the only complaint that can be made. In return, however, we get a sea of culinary delights and that warm, enveloping atmosphere. It is simply a wonderful, cosy and romantic melodrama that heals the soul better than any antidepressant.

After watching, there remains that very pleasant aftertaste, like from a good dessert and a glass of prosecco at sunset.

Gaya's rating: 8.0/10. Such a high score is precisely for the atmosphere, the culinary aesthetics and that very feeling of lightness after watching.

And, by the way, on all counts.✨
