HONOR Robot Phone has made it onto TIME magazine's list of the best inventions of 2026. The device stands out for its integrated robotic camera system on a titanium gimbal, which extends from the body and enables autonomous shooting.
The key element is the Agile titanium gimbal with four degrees of freedom. It is 65% more compact than external stabilizers, weighs 2,6 g and retracts fully into a body 9,6 mm thick. The camera on the gimbal — 200 MP with a 1/1,28-inch sensor and an f/1.6 aperture — rotates 360 degrees, tracks objects and responds to voice and gesture commands in YOYO Robot mode. The second 200 MP belong to the periscopic telephoto lens with 2,7x optical zoom, while 50 MP go to the ultra-wide-angle camera.
The collaboration with ARRI adds LogC3 profiles, ARRI Wide Gamut 3 and LUT grading directly to the smartphone. Video is recorded in 4K at up to 120 frames per second with support for 10-bit Log. A battery with a capacity of 7060 mAh on a silicon-carbon basis powers the motor and the AI, while charging reaches 120 W by wire.
The screen is a 6,31-inch LTPO OLED with a resolution of 1216 × 2640 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 6800 nits. The processor is Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of built-in storage. The device weighs 248 g and has IP54 protection. In China the model is available from August 2026 at a price starting from 9999 yuan for the 12/512 GB version.
Compared with ordinary flagships, Robot Phone wins in stabilization and autonomous shooting, but loses in compactness and weight. Competitors such as the iPhone 18 Pro or Galaxy S26 Ultra do not have a mechanical gimbal, so for video bloggers and mobile videographers the choice is obvious.
For those who shoot video on the move without a tripod or accessories, HONOR Robot Phone offers a unique combination of mechanics and AI in a single body.
