Samsung Electronics has unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge — the thinnest flagship smartphone in the Galaxy S lineup. The model, just 5,8 mm thick and weighing 163 g, was released on 13 May 2025 and became available for sale from 30 May.

The device is equipped with a 6,7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with QHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, 12 GB of RAM and storage of 256 or 512 GB deliver flagship performance. The main camera is 200 MP with optical stabilization, complemented by a 12 MP ultra-wide module; the front camera is 12 MP.

The body is made of titanium with Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protective glass on the front and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back. The smartphone supports IP68, stereo speakers and Galaxy AI features, including visual and voice interaction via the camera. Charging is up to 25 W wired and wireless.

The main compromise is the 3900 mAh battery. Compared with the Galaxy S25+ (7,3 mm thick), the model is noticeably thinner and lighter, but requires more frequent recharging with active use. The price starts at 1099 dollars for the 256 GB version.

Compared with the Galaxy S25+ Edge, it wins on thickness and weight but falls short on battery life. Against the iPhone 16 Pro (8,3 mm and 199 g), it looks more compact and lighter despite having a larger screen. For those who value minimal thickness without giving up flagship characteristics, the S25 Edge is the obvious choice.
