Govee has officially launched the Table Lamp Classic, its latest portable smart lighting solution. The model comes equipped with a built-in battery and supports control via the Govee Home app, with full integration for Google Home and Amazon Alexa.
Weighing in at 680 grams and standing 32 centimeters tall, the lamp is designed for easy portability. The battery capacity allows for up to 10 hours of cordless use at 50% brightness. Charging is handled via a USB-C port and takes approximately three hours. The body is constructed from aluminum and matte plastic, with both black and white color options available.
The lamp features a 5W LED module that supports 16 million colors and an adjustable color temperature range from 2,000 to 6,500K. It reaches a maximum brightness of 300 lumens. Users can create custom scenes, set timers, and synchronize the light with music through the app. An automatic shut-off feature triggered by a lack of motion helps to conserve battery life.
When compared to the previous Govee Table Lamp, this new version boasts extended battery life and improved Bluetooth connectivity. However, the maximum brightness remains the same, and the device does not include a built-in speaker. The price is set at $49 in the U.S. and €59 in Europe.
The lamp competes with the likes of the Philips Hue Go and Nanoleaf Elements. While Govee has the edge in terms of price and battery longevity, it falls slightly behind in ecosystem integration and color accuracy. For those in search of a budget-friendly portable lamp with essential smart features, the Table Lamp Classic provides a well-rounded balance of specs and value.
