In the US on September 8, an ordinary road in Texas unexpectedly turned into a place where drivers definitely did not want to open their windows.
A semi-trailer was transporting bees, but the trip did not go as planned: part of the live cargo ended up right on the road. As a result, the road temporarily became not just busy, but literally buzzing.
Drivers had to be especially careful because in such circumstances the expression “keep your distance” suddenly took on new meaning.
The situation is rare and almost comical: usually on roads one fears traffic jams, accidents, and repairs, but here — a whole swarm of bees. It seems this is one of those cases where the road sign “no honking” could be not just a polite recommendation, but truly useful advice.
Fortunately, the story is more like a strange road episode than a disaster movie. But admit it, you don't see a news story every day where the main threat on the road is not speed, but a very unhappy swarm. 😄
