The word “needed” confuses me just as much as “spiritual.”
Actually, this is an automatic process. When you request knowledge, an answer always comes to you.
Yes, there are people who know how to convey knowledge — teachers. But there are a great many situations and people who come in response to your request, and they do not even think of teaching you — they are precisely your reflection, your request in action.
But “needed” is, rather, a trap of the mind, which will “choose from the correct list” instead of looking at what is reflected in response to its request.
Likewise “spiritual” — here, too, the mind’s assumptions are hidden — it does not look at the request but seeks what is “more spiritual” in its own understanding.
You know, when Jesus, Zarathustra and Buddha came, they were initially considered precisely “unspiritual,” since they contradicted the old notions of the world order.
Thus, your true teacher must break your system of knowledge in order to clear the path to the new. And at every important stage of life, someone always appears within your circle of perception.
