印度內閣批准一項價值1,86兆盧比（約19,42億美元）的計畫，用於發展再生能源。資金將用於各邦境內電網的現代化以及建置儲能系統。
在總額1,36兆盧比中，部分資金將用於強化各邦境內的電力輸送。政府表示，這將使最多135吉瓦的潔淨能源得以輸送出去。
此外，將撥出500億盧比，用於鼓勵安裝50吉瓦時的電池儲能系統。這類容量將有助於儲存白天所發的電力，並在尖峰時段使用。
此一決定是在再生能源容量快速成長的背景下作出的。電網目前仍跟不上新的太陽能與風力發電廠的併網速度，導致發電受到限制。
該計畫將成為「綠色能源走廊」的第三階段。其實施期限預計到2032–2033財政年度，並包含54億盧比的中央支持。
目標是在2030年之前，將非化石能源的裝機容量提高到500吉瓦。目前這一數字為304吉瓦。這將如何影響終端消費者的電價？
該計畫的批准凸顯了印度在發展綠色能源以及解決再生能源併入單一電網問題上的優先地位。
