バハマのフィリップ・デイビス首相は、国内で実施された前倒し議会総選挙において勝利を収めました。
選挙管理委員会が提供したデータによれば、同氏の率いる政党が議会の過半数議席を維持したことで、デイビス氏が首相に留まることが確定しました。
今回の選挙は、前回の議会解散後の政治情勢を受けて前倒しで実施されたものです。
野党各党は、新政権の樹立に必要となる十分な票を獲得するには至りませんでした。
国際的な選挙監視団は、投票プロセスの透明性を認め、重大な不正行為もなかったと評価しています。
デイビス首相は今後、観光業の復興や金融セクターの強化を目指す経済改革の推進を継続する方針です。
