How to fix a toilet by watching a YouTube video and accidentally gain a second profession-1

Things used to be simple: the toilet broke — you call a plumber. 🚽

Now everything is different.

Now you first type into the search bar:

"how to fix a toilet yourself quickly without a repairman"

Then you watch one video.

Then a second one.

Then five more, because in the first one the guy has a different tank, in the second he's already unscrewed something before the recording started, and in the third there's a terrifying phrase:

"Well, this is all elementary."

An hour later you already know what a float, a valve, the fittings, a corrugated pipe are, and why the water "won't hold."

Two hours later, lying on your floor are:

a screwdriver, pliers, three gaskets, some nut of unknown origin, and a phone with a video:

"Step 2 of 17."

At some point, confidence appears:

"Why even pay plumbers at all? This is a ten-minute job."

It's precisely after this phrase that the real adventure usually begins.

But the most surprising thing is that sometimes it actually works out.

You press the button.

The water goes down.

Nothing leaks.

And for a few seconds you stare silently at the toilet with the expression of a man who has just single-handedly landed a plane.

After that, the main thing is not to get carried away.

Because by evening YouTube starts suggesting:

"How to replace the wiring yourself,"
"Repairing a washing machine in 15 minutes"
and
"How to build a house with no experience."

And you're like:

"Well… it worked out with the toilet." 😄
