In Bozeman, Montana, a scene occurred that sounds like the start of a bad joke but actually happened.
A black bear wandered into the yard of a residential house. And then two dogs ran out to meet it — Elvin and Bear.
Yes, one of the dogs is indeed named Bear — "Bear".
So even at this stage the situation looked great: a real bear met a dog named Bear.
At first, the wild guest decided to show who was in charge and even walked toward the dogs. But they did not back down and continued barking, surrounding him from the yard side.
After a few seconds, the black bear apparently reconsidered his life plans.
He turned around, climbed over the fence, and left.
In the end, it literally turned out:
Bear chased away a bear.
And Elvin apparently just came to watch how the namesakes' showdown went. 😄
The funniest part is that from the outside it all looked as if Bear finally got a chance to prove his name in practice.
And he did.
Not with a roar.
Not with claws.
But with an ordinary dog's:
"WOOF-WOOF-WOOF, GET OUT OF HERE!"
Sometimes, to defeat a bear, all you really need is another Bear.
