Grammy winner and 17-time Oscar nominee Diane Warren has become the new owner of a pig named Wilbur. The story began with a viral video of the animal running through the streets of West Hollywood, California.
The pig had escaped and spent several days running around the neighborhood. Eventually, it was caught and taken to the West L.A. Animal Shelter. Its owner never came forward.
On Thursday, four people competed to adopt Wilbur. A silent auction had to be held. Marcia Zwilling won, acting on behalf of the Diane Warren Foundation.
"Diane saw the news and the video of the running pig and called me immediately: 'Please, get the pig, get the pig!'" Zwilling said.
Now Wilbur will move to Malibu. There, he will live with other animals and receive gourmet salads every day.
Warren herself already has a pig named Wilbur. The new pet will likely be given a different name—for example, "Hollywood."
"I lose Oscars, but I won a pig... it's fun. It's fun," Diane Warren commented on the situation.
How will Wilbur's life turn out among the other residents of the sanctuary?
