The European Athletics Championships in Birmingham continues to deliver thrilling moments. On August 14, spectators witnessed several impressive finals, championship records, and a significant medal for Ukraine.

Among the evening's main highlights was the women's 800-meter final. Swiss athlete Audrey Werro claimed victory, completing the distance in 1:54.81 and setting a new European Championship record. In a closely contested race, she edged out Great Britain's Keely Hodgkinson by just two-tenths of a second. The bronze medal was secured by the Netherlands' Femke Broeders-Bol.

Another championship record was established in the men's 400-meter hurdles final. Norway's Karsten Warholm once again affirmed his status as one of the world's top hurdlers, finishing in 46.63 seconds. This victory earned him his fourth consecutive European Championship title in the event.

For Ukrainian fans, the day's main highlight was Oleh Doroshchuk's performance in the high jump. The Ukrainian athlete secured a silver medal, adding another award to the national team's collection. The gold went to the celebrated Italian Gianmarco Tamberi, who became European champion for the third consecutive time. Italy also claimed the bronze, won by Matteo Sioli.

In the women's 10,000-meter race, Italy's Nadia Battocletti celebrated victory. She finished with a time of 31:41.17, successfully defending her European title. The Netherlands' Maureen Koster finished second, while Belgium's Jana van Lent took third.

The competition in the women's discus throw proved equally engaging. Dutch athlete Jorinde van Klinken became the European champion, launching the discus 67.67 meters. Shanice Craft secured the silver medal, while Vanessa Kamga earned the bronze.

In the men's 200-meter final, Germany's Owen Ansah claimed first place. He broke the 20-second barrier, clocking a time of 19.95. The silver medal went to Great Britain's Zharnel Hughes, with Italy's Eseosa Desalu taking the bronze.
