“Spy Undercover” (L’Infiltrée) is a French comedy from 2026 directed by Ahmed Sylla. The cast includes Ahmed Sylla, Michèle Laroque (“Pretend to Be My Fiancée”), Kaaris, Sandra Parfait, Amaury de Crayencour, Ichem Bougheraba, Cindy Bruna and Chantal Lauby.
At the center of the story is Maxime, a clumsy police officer who has long dreamed of becoming a real undercover agent. But his first serious assignment turns out to be nothing like what he imagined.
To get close to a dangerous criminal group, Maxime has to transform into a woman named Lupita.
And that is where the main chaos begins.
He must not only complete the mission, but also constantly monitor his voice, behavior, and cover story, and avoid giving himself away at the most inopportune moment.
The film blends spy comedy, masquerade and light action. The humor here is at times very French, at times grotesque, but it all plays out quite briskly.
Ahmed Sylla is clearly enjoying the transformation, and Michèle Laroque once again adds that very recognizable French flavor to the picture.
The film is short — about 1 hour 35 minutes, so it doesn't have time to wear you out.
This is not a serious spy story, nor a film in which one should look for great depth.
Rather, a light French comedy for the evening: a bit of absurdity, a bit of action, plenty of disguises and awkward situations.
Sometimes predictable.
Sometimes too grotesque.
But overall quite charming and dynamic.
