The story begins in the most disastrous way possible: Lucas is left at the altar, and to make matters worse, the bride runs off with her ex. The honeymoon is already paid for, and it's too late to cancel the trip — so instead of his young wife, it's… his mother Lily.

And that's where the real French chaos begins.

The mother is energetic, emotional, and has absolutely no intention of sitting quietly in the hotel room.

The son is heartbroken, irritated, and had dreamed of spending this vacation in a completely different way.

And the people around them take them for a couple, which only adds to the awkward situations.

The humor here is light, at times absurd, at times very French. There's romance, family relationships, and that very idea that sometimes the most disastrous moment in life unexpectedly opens a door to a completely different story.

🌟 Starring:

  • Michèle Laroque ("Pretend I'm Your Fiancée", "Undercover Spy") — as the mother, whose charisma, energy, and comedic timing are simply flawless.
  • Julien Frison — a charming and bewildered groom who elicits genuine sympathy.
  • Rossy de Palma, Gilbert Melki, Kad Merad and Margot Bancilhon — add to the film that very inimitable French flavour, absurd humour and worldly wisdom.

A particular plus is Michèle Laroque. Once again she plays brilliantly a woman who can easily take over all the space around her, yet remains very warm and alive.

Also good is Julien Frison: his Lucas gradually changes, and it is a pleasure to watch.

Rossy de Palma adds even more eccentricity to the film, while Gilbert Melki and Kad Merad excellently support the overall French flavour.

The film does not aspire to be deep cinema and does not try to surprise with a complex plot.

It is simply a pleasant, light comedy for the evening — with sunshine, a holiday, awkward situations and family warmth.

Sometimes it is funny.

Sometimes a little naive.

But it is easy to watch and leaves you in a good mood afterwards.
