In South Lampung, Indonesia, on September 6, a small operation to detain a very brazen fish lover came to an end.
An otter snuck onto a private farm and, judging by its behavior, decided it had ended up not in a farmstead but at an all-you-can-eat buffet.
First, it started pulling fish out of the pond. Then it began dashing around the grounds so confidently that hundreds of ducks and chickens preferred to keep their distance from the new "boss" and scattered every time it appeared.
The farm owners tried to catch the uninvited guest on their own.
Day one.
Day two.
The otter was against it.
In the end, they had to call the firefighters.
That is, the situation had officially reached the stage of:
"We have a problem."
"What's on fire?"
"Nothing."
"Then why are we here?"
" An otter is eating fish and terrorizing the ducks."
The rescuers did manage to catch the furry offender and take it off the farm.
According to preliminary reports, the animal may have been someone's pet that decided to broaden its gastronomic horizons a bit.
And if that is indeed the case, the owner is probably in for a difficult conversation:
"Where have you been for two days?"
"Meow... I mean, I don't know anything."
What's especially delightful about this story is that the otter didn't ask anyone to invite it.
It just showed up, saw a pond full of fish, and decided:
"Well, finally someone thought of me." 😄
