12 October, Racine, Wisconsin, USA. The news was published on 13 October.
A baby Hartmann's mountain zebra has been born at the Racine Zoo.
The girl became the third foal of this species born at the zoo, and the first female.
Her parents are zebras named Promise and Obi.
Staff watched the expectant mother around the clock for several weeks using night-vision cameras.
The birth went smoothly, and the little one is doing well.
But one important problem remained.
The baby doesn't have a name yet!
So the zoo invited the public to choose one by voting on social media.
A zebra was born, and people who don't even know which stripes she likes best are choosing her name. 😄
