15 October, in Vienna's Neubau district (Austria), an unusual program to protect the city's trees was launched.
Now dog owners are advised to take on walks not only bags for cleanup, but also a bottle of water with a volume of 270 milliliters.
Why?
To water the trees after the dog marks the trunk!
Local experts explain: dog urine damages the bark, so it is desirable to dilute it with water.
The bottles are even handed out for free at the district administration.
The initiative is voluntary.
Imagine a morning walk: the dog watered the tree, the owner watered the tree, and both are happy.
All that's left is to teach the trees to say thank you! π
