On Friday morning, bitcoin briefly fell below 80 thousand dollars for a couple of hours, but within two hours it was back at 82 500. Buyers once again stepped in to defend the level, which in recent days has already twice repelled attacks by sellers. Asian stocks, especially South Korean chipmakers, also recovered the previous day's losses.
The drop below 80 thousand did not last long — only about two hours. The price touched 79 800, after which it quickly recovered. By the start of the Asian session, bitcoin was already trading at around 82 thousand, gaining 1,3 percent. Other major cryptocurrencies also posted gains: Zcash rose by 8 percent, while Solana, Ethereum, XRP and TRON gained roughly a percent each.
Asian stock markets set the tone. The MSCI Asia Pacific index added 1,3 percent. In Seoul, the Kospi rose by nearly 3 percent after having plunged by 8 percent the day before and triggered automatic circuit breakers. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix climbed by more than 2 percent. Risk appetite returned, and with it, interest in risk assets.
Such rapid rebounds suggest that 80 thousand has become an important psychological and technical boundary. Each time the price approached it, buyers were there, ready to defend the level. This is no coincidence: in recent weeks, demand has formed precisely here. When Asian stocks began to recover, the crypto market received an additional boost.
For those keeping an eye on their savings, such moves are a reminder of how volatility works. A brief drop below a key mark often turns out to be a trap for those who sell in a panic, and an opportunity for those ready to hold or buy more. The market tests nerves and at the same time shows where interest is truly concentrated.
While Asian trading continues, bitcoin is holding above 81 thousand. The next reference point is an attempt to return to 84 thousand. But the main thing is already clear: the 80 thousand level remains under buyers' protection for now, and with it, the overall appetite for risk.
