Malaysia and Japan Strengthen Educational Cooperation to Enhance Bilateral Relations

Putrajaya - Malaysia and Japan have agreed to enhance cooperation in the education sector, elevating their bilateral relations to a comprehensive partnership level. This agreement was reached during a meeting between Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba on January 10 in Putrajaya.

The leaders discussed various educational initiatives, including the establishment of a branch of Japan's Sukuba University in Malaysia. They also explored partnerships between institutions such as the Malaysian Technical University Malacca (UTeM), Vaseda University, and the University of Technology Malaysia (UTM), along with Japan International Technology Institute (JIIT).

Prime Minister Anwar highlighted the significance of Keio University and requested that it participate in some of its educational programs. These initiatives are part of a broader effort to strengthen Malaysia-Japan relations.
