Gushi Cliff Coffee

In an era when ordinary coffee shops no longer impress, China has given the world a truly extreme coffee experience. Gushi Cliff Coffee in Fujian Province in southeastern China rightfully holds the title of "the world's most extreme cafe".

Sipping coffee on cliff: Fujian's Gushi Village unlocks unique travel experience

Where is it located?

The cafe is located on a sheer coastal slope in Gushi Village, Lianjiang County, Fuzhou City, about 60-70 meters above sea level. Beneath the visitors' feet are the crashing ocean waves and the sheer cliff.

How does it work?

Gushi Cliff Coffee is not a building in the usual sense. The cafe consists of rectangular platforms bolted directly to the cliff, which serve as seating areas for visitors.

How to get to your table:

1. Tourists must walk about 30 minutes along a "via ferrata" trail (a special climbing route)

2. Then, under the supervision of a professional instructor, they are lowered by rope to the platforms

3. Access without staff supervision is strictly prohibited

How much does it cost?

A cup of coffee at Gushi Cliff Coffee costs 398 yuan (about $58), which sounds expensive even for premium establishments. However, this price includes:

- Mandatory insurance

- Rental of professional climbing equipment

- Descent instructor services

- Unlimited stay time (once you reach the platforms, you can stay as long as you want)

Why has it become popular?

The cafe opened in 2024 and quickly went viral after videos shot at this breathtaking location began circulating on social media.

In its first 4 months of operation, the establishment hosted nearly 1,000 visitors, becoming one of the region's main attractions.

Important rules

Due to the enormous tourist interest, the founder of Cliff Coffee emphasized that:

- Advance booking is mandatory

- People cannot simply descend to the platforms by rope without staff supervision

- The cafe is open 7 days a week from 9 am

Alternative options

For those who want a less extreme experience, the "横渡" (cross-over) festival route is offered for 188 yuan, while the full experience with 崖降 (cliff descent) costs 398 yuan.

Gushi Cliff Coffee is a place where a coffee break turns into a real adventure, combining the adrenaline of rock climbing with the contemplation of breathtaking ocean views. Perfect for those seeking a "half mountain, half sea" vibe and willing to pay for a unique experience!

This is a very BIG deal, so let me break it down. The International Maritime Organization (IMO), the UN body regulating maritime transport, will vote this Friday to finalize their “net zero framework” for shipping across the board. 🚢 Beginning in 2028, all ships will need to

No taxation without representation. Being taxed by the UN would be far more offensive than the taxes imposed by Great Britain against the American colonies more than 250 years ago. Those taxes sparked the American Revolution. The UN should be defunded, not seeded with new
