The National Mullet Championship (Mullet Mesterskabet 2026) took place on June 6 in Copenhagen on the open stage in the Vesterbro district (Onkel Dannys Plads). This is the fourth festival of its kind.
Key Details:
- Participants: 12 individuals with magnificent mullets (short in front, long in back).
- Spectators: Over 1000 people – a real party!
- Judges evaluated not only the hairstyle but also style, uniqueness, and performance (special "mullet moves"). Each participant had 60 seconds for their show.
The winner is 43-year-old construction worker Thomas Berg. He performed in a neon-green tracksuit, with an orange headband, and jumped on a trampoline like crazy. The judges were delighted! He said: "It's just a big party, I'm so happy.".
The organizer is 37-year-old electrician Steffen Steve Weber. He started everything after a hair transplant when he decided to grow a mullet. He wanted to participate in the American championship, but only US citizens are allowed – so he created his own in Denmark. Now it's an annual celebration of "business in the front, party in the back.".
The event featured live haircuts, concerts, and a lot of positivity. Danes know how to have fun with such "ridiculous in a beautiful way" things.
