The U.S. Department of Defense, operating under the name U.S. Department of War, released its fifth tranche of declassified materials concerning Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) on August 7, 2026. This release is available on the official PURSUE portal—the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters.

This continues a program initiated by a directive from President Donald Trump. The first tranche was released on May 8, 2026, with subsequent releases following every few weeks. In total, this fifth package contains dozens of files from various agencies, including the Department of War and the FBI.

Among the documents released are an analysis of 1953 film footage showing unidentified objects over Montana and Utah, as well as digital renderings of triangular objects and clusters of red lights. Many records date from 2002–2026 and pertain to sightings in Afghanistan, Colorado Springs, and the western U.S. states.

These materials relate to unresolved cases, as the government lacks sufficient data for definitive conclusions. The department notes that it welcomes analysis from the private sector.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth emphasized: “These files, hidden behind classifications, have long fueled legitimate speculation—and it’s time for the American people to see them for themselves.”

These releases are part of a broader transparency initiative. How will the accumulation of such data influence public perception of UAP in the coming months?

All materials are available on the website war.gov/ufo. Additional tranches are expected in the coming weeks.

No taxation without representation. Being taxed by the UN would be far more offensive than the taxes imposed by Great Britain against the American colonies more than 250 years ago. Those taxes sparked the American Revolution. The UN should be defunded, not seeded with new
