Vietnam, UN Discuss Cooperation, Multilateralism in France

NICE, France - On Monday, Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính met with President of the UN General Assembly Philemon Yang on the sidelines of the third UN Ocean Conference in Nice, France.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation and addressing global challenges, including climate change and resource depletion. Prime Minister Chính emphasized Vietnam's support for multilateralism and the UN's central role in global governance.

During the discussion, Prime Minister Chính outlined Vietnam's development strategy and foreign policy priorities. He expressed hope for increased UN-Vietnam cooperation, including support for human resources training and opportunities for Vietnamese professionals within UN bodies.

President Yang commended Vietnam's active engagement in UN activities and its respect for the UN Charter. He also welcomed Vietnam's growing international role and pledged to work with the country to promote adherence to the UN Charter, international law, and multilateralism.

The leaders also discussed enhancing Vietnam-Cameroon relations. President Yang pledged support for deeper cooperation in science-technology, telecommunications, and agriculture. Prime Minister Chính extended an invitation to President Yang to visit Vietnam.
