Tunisia, UN Discuss Cooperation, Development Priorities

On June 24, 2025, Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti met with the new UN Resident Coordinator in Tunisia, Rana Taha.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Tunisia and the UN, particularly in light of Tunisia's national priorities. These include digital and energy transitions, poverty reduction, and achieving social justice.

Minister Nafti highlighted President Kais Saied's initiative to dedicate 2025 to strengthening multilateral action and cooperation with the UN system. Taha emphasized the UN's commitment to existing cooperation programs and aligning them with Tunisia's development plan for 2027-2030.

The discussions aimed to enhance the effectiveness of these programs, supporting Tunisia's development efforts through a cooperative approach. This meeting signifies a crucial step in reinforcing the partnership between Tunisia and the UN to address global challenges.
