Indonesia and Denmark have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations through the signing of a strategic cooperation action plan for the period 2025-2029.

The signing was conducted by Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono and Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen at an official meeting in Jakarta on Tuesday, April 22.

The action plan, titled "Strategic Cooperation for a Sustainable and Resilient Future," covers various key sectors, including economy, trade, investment, environment, energy transition, agriculture, governance, education, culture, and tourism.

Minister Sugiono stated that Denmark is an important partner for Indonesia in Scandinavia, especially in trade and economics. He noted that the total trade value between the two countries in 2024 exceeded $400 million USD.

Through this action plan, Denmark has also committed to supporting the development of Indonesian SMEs to meet export standards and access the European Union market through Danish trade channels.

Denmark also agreed to strengthen cooperation with Indonesia in waste management and the circular economy, which are the main programs of the action plan in the environmental field.

The plan also includes strengthening collaboration in climate change, green energy transition, food and agriculture, good governance, culture, education, and tourism.
