Foreign ministers from Denmark, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Norway, Finland, Sweden, and Germany, along with a delegate from France, have signed a statement emphasizing that an independent and democratic Ukraine is fundamental to Euro-Atlantic and global security.

The countries pledged to continue providing political, military, and civilian support to Ukraine for as long as it takes. This support aims to ensure Ukraine achieves the strongest possible position for a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace.

The peace would be based on the UN Charter and international law, ensuring Ukraine's independence and sovereignty while strengthening European security. Ministers also agreed on the need to increase pressure on Russia through additional sanctions.

They expressed support for the EU's action plan to phase out Russian energy imports and reduce Russia's revenue from them. The ministers strongly condemned Russia's hybrid activities against Europe, including sabotage, disinformation, cyberattacks, illegal migration, and election interference.

They agreed to strengthen shared situational awareness, information exchange, and maritime surveillance to better anticipate, deter, and counter maritime threats and other hostile hybrid operations. The Nordic, Baltic, and Weimar states expressed their determination to take further coordinated action to deter, neutralize, and restrict Russia's shadow fleet.

Close cooperation will be pursued with the G7 task force established to counter the shadow fleet. Lithuania's Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys stressed the need for a just peace that reflects fundamental principles of international law.

He stated that a fair peace is needed to defend the fundamental principles of international law, such as territorial integrity and sovereignty. Budrys warned that failing to protect these principles would open a Pandora's box in global politics, redrawing state borders, and emphasized the critical need to contribute to preventing such consequences.
