U.s. Warns Ukrainians, Europeans in Paris: 'This Isn't Our War'

The United States sent a clear message to Ukrainians and Europeans in Paris on Friday, emphasizing that "this isn't our war." The message aims to deter them from defending themselves against Russia if the war in Ukraine doesn't end quickly.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump believes the war in Ukraine could be ended within 24 hours. He has expressed his desire to avoid being perceived as supporting increased defense spending and American aid to Ukraine.

Trump criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, stating he is "not a fan." He also criticized Europeans for relying on the U.S. to cover defense costs. During discussions in Paris, concerns were raised that Trump might focus his efforts on other matters.

U.S. Foreign Minister Marco Rubio cautioned that Trump might prioritize other files. Some journalists noted the need to determine if peace is achievable in the coming days, suggesting a potential shift in U.S. policy.

Rubio emphasized that while the U.S. is ready to assist and wants peace, it won't pursue this goal at any cost. He pointed out that the war, which began with Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, is evolving in Europe.

Rubio added that if peace isn't possible, the U.S. might consider other options. He expressed confidence that President Trump would reach a point where he concludes that enough is enough.
