Azerbaijan and Iraq Strengthen Bilateral Ties in Key Meeting

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Iraqi Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi and Advisor to the Prime Minister Ailnur Muhammadzadeh. The meeting took place to discuss ways to enhance relations between the two countries. Discussions focused on economic and political cooperation. The officials emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between Iraq and Azerbaijan. They highlighted opportunities for cooperation in political, religious, cultural, and economic spheres. Both sides acknowledged the significance of tourism and educational exchanges. Both parties expressed interest in opening an Azerbaijani consulate in Erbil. They also agreed on supporting the Palestinian people. They reinforced the joint positions regarding Gaza and Palestine.
