Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

Nigeria is focusing on transforming its international borders into pathways for cooperation and economic integration. This initiative was highlighted during the 2025 African Border Day celebration held in Abuja on Monday.

The National Boundary Commission (NBC) organized the event under the theme "Building Community Resilience and Economic Development through Cross-Border Cooperation." The goal is to repurpose borders to enable shared growth and cross-national unity.

Deputy governors from Nigerian border states called for special intervention funds and improved security. They emphasized the need for enhanced border security and infrastructure to combat insecurity and promote regional collaboration.
