Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

The coast guards of India, Japan, the United States, and Australia have launched the 'Quad-at-Sea' mission to strengthen maritime security in the Indo-Pacific region. This collaborative effort aims to enhance operational coordination and interoperability among the four nations' maritime forces.

The mission was initiated following the Quad leaders' summit in Wilmington, Delaware, in September 2024. The summit included Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan, and President Joe Biden of the United States.

As part of the initiative, officers from each country have embarked on the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Stratton, currently en route to Guam. This mission is a step toward enhancing joint readiness and domain awareness among the four nations' coast guards.
