Germany has pledged €300 million ($326 million) to international organizations, including the UN, to support the peace process in Syria and provide humanitarian assistance to people in Syria and the region. Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock announced this contribution on March 17 before a meeting of the Council on Foreign Affairs in Brussels. Baerbock emphasized the need for an inclusive political process and urged the transitional government of the Arab Republic to investigate incidents involving civilians and hold perpetrators accountable. A significant portion of the funding will be allocated to humanitarian aid, civil society support, psychosocial assistance, and the restoration of the education system, aiming to ensure a stable future for children in Syria.
