International Organizations Address Sudan's Humanitarian Crisis with €522 Million Aid Pledge

London, April 2024 - International organizations, including the EU and its member states, pledged €522 million in humanitarian aid to address the escalating crisis in Sudan. The announcement occurred at the High-Level Conference for Sudan in London, co-hosted by the European Commission, the UK, France, Germany, and the African Union. The European Commission committed €282 million of the total amount. Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Malta, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden pledged the remaining funds. The aid will support healthcare, nutrition, food assistance, water, and sanitation. The conflict in Sudan, ongoing since April 15, 2023, has caused a major humanitarian crisis, with over 12 million displaced and more than 30 million in need of assistance.
