At Disney, they decided that ordinary ramen is too boring— 6 October, USA.
For the future area Monstropolis at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a menu inspired by "Monsters, Inc." is being tested. And judging by the first ideas, you'll have to eat very carefully there.
Among the dishes is ramen with pieces of fish paste shaped so that they resemble eyeballs.
So you're looking into the bowl.
And the bowl, it seems, is looking back at you.
The menu also features green eggs and other dishes in the spirit of the cartoon.
But the star of the future restaurant is not even the food.
Disney plans to install an animatronic sushi chef with eight tentacles, who will work behind the counter and create the impression that sushi here is truly prepared to monster standards.
The dishes are still at the testing stage, and the final menu may yet change.
But the direction is already clear.
Parents used to tell their children:
"Don't play with your food."
Now, it seems, they'll have to add:
"And if the food started staring at you first — just stay calm." 😄
In short, the question “what’s for dinner tonight?” may soon get a completely new answer:
“I don’t know. But it has already noticed us.”
