Samsung is preparing to launch its first AI glasses, Intelligent Eyewear, in mid-December 2026. The devices will appear first in the US and South Korea, and in other countries, including Europe, China and Japan, only in 2027.
The glasses run on the Android XR platform with Gemini integration from Google. They have no display — this is an audio device with a camera, microphones and stereo speakers. The Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 processor powers the screenless functions. The battery capacity allows the glasses to be used for up to 9 hours, and the charging case extends the operating time.
Key capabilities include real-time speech translation, voice navigation and capturing photos of documents or meetings with automatic organization in the Notes app on a Galaxy smartphone. Gemini analyzes the surroundings through the 12-megapixel front camera and provides contextual answers. The glasses were developed in partnership with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker: several frame styles are available in different colors and shapes.
The price has not yet been announced — Samsung continues negotiations. The company previously mentioned a "reasonable price" in the premium segment, but there are no exact figures. This distinguishes the new product from Meta Ray-Ban Meta, where prices are known in advance.
Compared with Galaxy XR, Intelligent Eyewear is lighter and intended for everyday wear outdoors, rather than for VR/AR games. They are positioned as a companion to a smartphone, not a replacement for it. Competitors like Meta Ray-Ban Meta offer similar audio functions, but without Android XR and deep Gemini integration.
The glasses will suit those who already use Galaxy devices and want a voice assistant with a camera in the familiar form of glasses, without waiting for a wider release.
