Huawei WATCH D3 with medical blood pressure monitoring and 24-hour tracking

Huawei unveiled the WATCH D3 on 15 October 2026 at the 37th Congress of Cardiologists in Beijing. The new product is positioned as a "wrist blood pressure expert" with medical certification.

The device is equipped with an inflatable cuff in the strap for oscillometric blood pressure measurement — a method used in clinical blood pressure monitors. It has been registered as a Class II medical device in China and has received CE MDR certification in Europe. It supports a single measurement on demand and 24-hour ambulatory monitoring with adjustable frequency.

To reduce discomfort, Huawei has employed a hybrid approach: precise measurements are taken day and night with a micropump (4 times during the day, 3 at night), while at other times blood pressure is tracked via PPG trends. This enables continuous monitoring without frequent air inflation. The built-in AI health assistant based on Huawei's model and the knowledge of 301 Hospital initiates a survey when deviations occur and provides personalized recommendations.

The design has become more compact: the case thickness has been reduced to 11,3 mm, and the weight of the L variant with the strap is 75 g. The screen is a 1,92-inch AMOLED with a resolution of 480 × 408 pixels and brightness up to 3000 nits. The battery provides up to 6 days of operation in normal mode and about a day with active ABPM. ECG, a 17-parameter rapid health check, and family monitoring functions are additionally available.

In China, the WATCH D3 is sold from 2988 yuan (with subsidies — from 2540 yuan). In Europe, the price is 449 euros. Compared with its predecessor, the D2, the model is thinner and lighter, and blood pressure monitoring has become less intrusive thanks to the hybrid technology.

Among competitors, there are few analogues with a genuine inflatable cuff and medical certification — most smartwatches use only optical sensors. The WATCH D3 wins on measurement accuracy but falls behind in battery life with round-the-clock monitoring enabled and is not supplied to the US.

For users who need accurate and convenient blood pressure control without a separate blood pressure monitor, the Huawei WATCH D3 offers a proven medical solution in the form of a wearable device.
