The World Car Awards, judged by 96 journalists from 30 countries, have announced the finalists for 2025. These awards recognize the best cars sold in the last 12 months, requiring models to be available on at least two continents.
World Car of the Year: Finalists include the Hyundai Inster, Kia EV3 (both electric), and BMW X3.
World Luxury Car: Porsche Macan, Porsche Panamera, and Volvo EX90 (electric) are in contention.
World Performance Car: The finalists are the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS, Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, and BMW M5.
World Urban Car: BYD Seagull/Dolphin Mini, Hyundai Inster, and Mini Cooper Electric (all electric) are the finalists.
World Car Design of the Year: Kia EV3, Toyota Land Cruiser, and Volkswagen ID. Buzz are the finalists.
The winners will be revealed on April 16 at the New York Auto Show.
