Clean Bandit x TÄRA — La Dolce Vita, official music video

On 23 October 2026, Clean Bandit and the Palestinian-Italian singer TÄRA released a joint track La Dolce Vita. Its title — “The Sweet Life” — opens a story in which musical lightness meets attentiveness to what is happening around us.

♪ An encounter from which something new is born

Each participant in this recording has a musical signature of their own.

Clean Bandit are known for combining string sounds with electronic dance music. TÄRA calls her approach Arab’n’B: in it, contemporary R&B intertwines with Arabic musical inflections, languages and imagery.

In La Dolce Vita the singer performs her parts in Italian and Arabic. According to Grace Chatto of Clean Bandit, it was precisely the way TÄRA brings these musical worlds together that especially impressed the group during their meeting in the studio.

Thus the collaboration becomes a space of discovery. A familiar instrument can take on a different inflection, a rhythm can find an unexpected continuation, and a voice can find new interlocutors.

Here it is fascinating to hear the very moment of interaction: how different creative experiences come together into a work with a shared breath.

♪ What lies behind “the sweet life”

The song’s dance energy sits alongside a far from simple message.

Explaining the idea, TÄRA speaks of how easy it is to dissolve into one’s own comfort and stop noticing the injustice and suffering around us. The title carries a bitter irony: pleasure can temporarily obscure what remains part of the shared world.

Jack Patterson of Clean Bandit said that the musicians sought to convey this irony in the production of the track as well. Working with TÄRA also introduced him to Arabic instruments for which he had never written before.

That is why La Dolce Vita offers the listener several ways of meeting the music at once. One can follow its movement, listen closely to the shifting of languages, and then turn to the meaning of the lyrics.

The pleasure of sound and attentiveness can exist together. Joy gains depth when there remains room in it for another person.

♪ The voice becomes an image

TÄRA took part in creating the song and also directed the accompanying video under her own name Tamara Al Zul.

The filming took place in summer in San Giorgio a Liri, in the Italian region of Lazio. The musical encounter received its own visual space, shaped by the singer’s authorial vision.

The recording itself features Grace Chatto’s cello and Molly Fletcher’s violin; the electronic programming was done by Jack Patterson and Rob Leith, who also recorded the guitar. The composers are Patterson, Chatto and Tamara Al Zul.

Behind the cohesive sound lie many individual decisions. Each musician brings their own expressiveness — and at the same time hears the space that the others create.

♪ Harmony begins with attention

In the space of GAYA ONE, such encounters are interesting for the chance to hear how differences become a source of creativity.

Two languages preserve their own melodiousness. The strings reveal their timbre alongside the electronics. The performers bring their personal history, experience and imagination into the shared work.

Harmony is born when every voice has its place and each one hears the others.

And this possibility continues beyond the song — in conversation, in shared work, in a chance encounter. We too create the sound of the shared world: by how we express ourselves, how we listen, and what space we open for one another.

What did this encounter add to the sound of the planet?

One more harmony that could only have been born in the meeting of precisely these people. Italian and Arabic, strings and electronics became a shared music while preserving the uniqueness of each voice.

This is how unity unfolds: each person freely expresses their nature, hears the others — and together something arises that did not exist before.

We too sound in this planetary symphony. And every time we create from love and attentiveness, the whole gains a new possibility to express its beauty.
