Prince Harry named the main rule of his marriage to Meghan: no more than ten days apart

In a new MasterClass workshop, "Rethinking Grief," Prince Harry stated plainly: the key to balance in his life with Meghan Markle is never spending more than ten days away from his wife and children.

The remark was made on 8 October 2026, when the Duke of Sussex had already been living in the United Kingdom for several months after returning from California. The family moved closer to King Charles, who is battling cancer, and Harry seems to have decided to publicly cement the family's priority over everything else.

He explained the rule simply: "The key to joy and happiness is no more than ten days away from my wife and children." Alongside this stands a broader admission: "The most important factor for me is the energy, joy and happiness I get from my family, especially from the children, and from working on the land." These words were spoken in an interview with neuroscientist Mary-Frances O'Connor, in which Harry also recalled the depression he experienced after leaving Britain at the end of 2019.

The statement did not appear by chance. The family has just returned to the United Kingdom, the children have started at a local school, and Harry continues to take an active part in the Invictus Games and other projects. Publicly emphasizing the "ten-day rule" works as a signal: despite the moves, the work and the old conflicts with the royal family, the priority remains unchanged. This is not merely a personal detail — it is a way of showing that his marriage and fatherhood have withstood all the trials of recent years.

In the context of a return to the country they once left, such words take on added weight. Harry, who is now 42, speaks of the balance between his role as a father, a husband and a man with a mission. He does not hide that without family and purpose, work loses its meaning, and family without him does too. This is not abstract philosophy but a concrete schedule that he has been trying to keep to for several years now.

For Harry himself, this moment is an attempt to retain control over his own story. After all the books, interviews and moves, he once again finds himself in the spotlight, but now he speaks not of conflicts but of what keeps him afloat. Meghan and the children remain at the center of his public image, not on its periphery.

The ten-day rule looks like a personal anchor in a life where public and private have long been so tightly intertwined that separating them is no longer possible.
