In Guangdong Province in southern China, implementation of a unique project is beginning: the world's first hotel where all staff will consist exclusively of robots will appear here. The project is being developed by Pudu Robotics together with Shenzhen CTID (Shenzhen Cultural Tourism Industry Development).
Location and Infrastructure The hotel will be located on West Artificial Island, which is part of the massive Shenzhen-Zhongshan bridge crossing in Guangdong Province. The hotel will include 44 luxury rooms, a restaurant, a gym, and areas for other guest activities.
Technologies and Robot Duties According to the developers' statement, robots will be employed in all areas of service without any human intervention. The tasks of the androids will include:
- working at the front desk and the guest check-in process;
- assistance with luggage;
- housekeeping of rooms;
- delivery of food, snacks, and beverages;
- ensuring security on the hotel premises.
All robotic systems will be integrated into a single AI platform, allowing them to exchange data and coordinate their actions in real time. For example, reception robots can recognize gestures and maintain basic social interaction, while courier models independently navigate space for contactless delivery of items.
Developers' Comment "Robots will be employed in all areas of hotel service, without human intervention," stated Guo Kong, technical director and co-founder of Pudu Robotics.
Implementation Timeline Currently, the project is in the stage of active infrastructure preparation. The hotel's launch in test mode is expected at the end of 2026, and the official opening to the general public is planned for 2027. This project is already being considered by industry experts as a global benchmark for the future of the hospitality industry and service automation.
