The updates primarily concern teachers and students using Microsoft 365 Education. The Study and Learn agent automatically detects the language based on browser and device settings, generates materials, and supports language switching within a single conversation. LMS integration allows creating assignments, syncing student rosters, and publishing meeting recordings without extra steps.
The mechanism works as follows: a teacher selects a topic or standard in Copilot, the system saves class and subject settings once, then automatically adjusts generation to the language and level. A student opens the chat, the agent offers images and questions, preserving "productive struggle" — it does not give a ready answer but guides toward independent problem-solving. All this happens within familiar Teams and OneNote apps, with grades and progress synced to the LMS.
Microsoft's official announcement does not contain independent research or RCT data. It is a corporate description of new features based on feedback from early users at several institutions. Preliminary data indicate time savings in material creation, but there are no long-term measurements of impact on academic performance or teacher workload. One open question is how sustainable the quality of generation is for languages other than English when scaled to thousands of schools.
