CBSE to Implement Twice-Yearly Class 10 Exams and Global Curriculum

Edited by: Olga Samsonova

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India is implementing significant changes to its educational framework. Starting in the 2026 academic session, Class 10 board examinations will be conducted twice a year. The first phase is scheduled from February 17 to March 6, 2026, and the second from May 5 to May 20, 2026.

This initiative aims to reduce exam pressure and offer students multiple chances to improve their scores. Both exam sessions will cover the full syllabus, and students can retain their best score. Practical and internal assessments will continue annually.

This reform aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, promoting a student-centric approach. CBSE will also introduce a Global Curriculum for 260 foreign-affiliated schools from the 2026-2027 session. This curriculum will integrate Indian subjects with international standards.
