China to Mandate AI Education for Students Aged 6-15 Starting in 2025

Starting September 1, 2025, China will implement mandatory artificial intelligence (AI) education for students aged 6 to 15 in all primary and secondary schools. This initiative aims to prepare children for a technology-driven future by fostering key digital skills early on. The AI curriculum will include at least eight hours per school year, tailored to different age groups. Younger students will explore basic concepts through practical activities, while secondary students will delve into complex applications and real-world examples of AI's impact. Depending on the school, these classes will be integrated into subjects like mathematics, technology, or science, or offered as independent courses.
