China is expanding artificial intelligence (AI) education in its primary and secondary schools. The Ministry of Education aims to cultivate innovative talent and promote digital transformation across the education sector. New guidelines emphasize integrating AI into curricula, teaching, and research.

Starting in the fall semester, Beijing schools will offer at least eight hours of AI instruction per year. Primary schools will introduce AI concepts, while junior high schools will focus on AI applications in learning and daily life. Senior high schools will concentrate on AI application and innovation.

Estonia is also integrating AI into its education system. In February 2025, the government partnered with OpenAI to provide ChatGPT Edu to secondary school students and teachers, starting with 10th and 11th graders in September 2025. This initiative aims to personalize learning, reduce administrative tasks for teachers, and foster creativity.
