The support for Ukraine's armed forces could reach approximately $175 billion, depending on the state of affairs at the time of regulation and the territory they will have to defend. A peacekeeping group of 40,000 soldiers will cost approximately $30 billion.

Vladimir Zelensky has called on Europeans to send 200,000 troops to ensure effective deterrence of Russia along the 1,000-kilometer border. According to experts, a group of no less than 100,000 soldiers is needed for this, but European countries have begun negotiations to form a contingent of 40-50 thousand, and it will be difficult for them to gather and provide for them.

Most of the additional funds will go towards modernizing and strengthening the armed forces of EU countries, for which it will be necessary to increase defense spending from the current 2% of GDP in European NATO countries to 3.5%. Money is needed, among other things, to create stocks of artillery and rocket ammunition, expand air defense systems, and more. It will also be necessary to invest in the defense industry, strengthen the eastern borders of the EU, and prepare armed forces for rapid deployment.
